From Malibu to Carlsbad

This year I have been fortunate enough to photograph many weddings, including a few of some very good friends. I am extra fortunate in that a lot of my couples who start out simply as new clients I am excited to get to know – become very good friends of mine. My job really is awesome.

It still surprises, humbles, and flatters me beyond belief when friends of mine from my personal life come to me for their wedding photography. It’s not something I ever truly expect, so when it happens I am filled with joy and gratitude because I love what I do SO much, that being chosen by my FRIENDS is an honor I can’t quite describe.

I met Trevor 5 summers ago at Camp to Belong Orange County. I have had the privilege of serving our local Foster Youth alongside him and many other amazing people who have all become family to me over the years. We go through, what I like to call, Emotional War together at this camp. We come from many different walks of life, but we share this common desire to help. After camp each year, our lives are changed in a way we can’t describe; we experience things together that are difficult, if not impossible to express to others; and we are forever trying to get others to join us for this adventure every summer.

All of that is to say, my CTB family – each and every one of them, are very near and dear to my heart. So when Trevor and his GORGEOUS (then) fiancee (now wife – duh) came to me about their wedding photography, I couldn’t have been even one ounce more excited than I was. I finally got to share my greatest gift with people who give and love others in total abundance.

Nikki & Trevor are two people I just can’t get enough of. They are fun, funny, giving, kind, and just all around awesome people to know and I am blessed to call them my friends.

Their wedding at the Vista Optimist Club in San Diego was perfect in every way. Everything was right on schedule, not a single thing went awry, and absolutely everyone was oozing with happiness and love.  If I continue talking about them and their wedding this blog will never end and I’ll never get onto the photos… so I’m shutting up now… and sharing!

Extra special thanks to my 2nd photographer Bianca Poletti for helping make beautiful images!

Also – huge shout out to Sabrina Cadini from La Dolce Idea – AMAZING coordinator. Sabrina made everything run flawlessly and to perfection.
