I recently got to photograph one of my dearest friends and her fiance for their engagement session.

I met Lauren just 8 months ago but we bonded instantly. I feel like I have known her forever, and it still shocks me to think we’ve only been friends for 8 months! When I met her she was already engaged to her fiance who I like to call “The Most Interesting Man in the World.” For the first few months of our friendship Ramon was traveling a lot for work and I heard story after story about him. I didn’t even know what he looked like for a while, but I had this idea in my head about him. Once I saw his photo I thought that is EXACTLY how I pictured the Dos Equis man would look… maybe 20 years ago… because he sounds a little old on the radio.

Coupled with so many stories about this very manly and masculine guy I just couldn’t get that idea out of my head. It continued as a joke between Lauren and I for a while, and then I met Ramon in person. And while I still find him very interesting – he is nowhere near as serious as the Dos Equis man… (that’s a compliment to you Ramon). He is hysterical, he is charming, he’s a jokster, and he is an instant friend just like his beautiful fiance.

I titled this blog Sunshine for a lot of reasons… Lauren probably knows one of them… and the more I thought about what to title this blog the more I kept coming back to something about the sun. Lauren is a ray of sunshine everywhere she goes. Her smile lights up any room she is in, her blond hair almost glows in the sunlight, and the love between the two of them has BOTH of them beaming constantly in each others presence. There’s no other word to describe the feeling you can’t help but have when you are with these two.
